What is this position?
The Piping Design Coordinator will be responsible for working with third-party designers to deliver project drawings complying with facility data management programs.
What will you do?
As a Piping Design Coordinator, you will:
- Coordinate external design and drafting contractors for project drawings, ensuring alignment with internal standards.
- Oversee contractors in developing and updating drawings for various assets, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Deliver drawings precisely and on time, including ongoing maintenance, covering a range including Piping and Instrument Diagrams, Electrical Hazardous Area Classification Plans, Schematics, Process Flow Diagrams, Facility Plot Plans, Emergency Operating Procedure drawings, Electrical One Line diagrams, Relief System Design data, and Cause and Effect Matrices.
- Consult with stakeholders to integrate required drawings into project scopes.
- Independently plan and execute tasks, taking responsibility for project success.
- Contribute to the design and drawings of complex engineering projects and provide technical support.
- Communicate with partners to assess needs and ensure satisfaction.
What are the requirements?
- Associate's Degree in Design and Drafting technology or related
- 8+ years experience in drafting (6+ years focused on independent design assignments)
- 6+ years experience in Oil & Gas Industry
- Knowledge of industry standards, practices, and codes (ACCI, AISC, ANSI, API, ASCE, ASME, AWS, DOT, IBC, ISA, NACE, NEC, NFPA, UBC, etc.)
- Proficient knowledge of design tools, principles, and techniques for producing blueprints, models, and drawings
- Ability to generate images & create layouts on computer
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
